The Spring and Summer months are a time where John's studio becomes the gardens and landscapes of South Canterbury, here he can be found out painting en plein air amongst the fields of the local farmers and in the garden where floral life is abundant.

 “This work is a reflection of my environment where I can stand still, freely within the landscape. The style and expression in these works show the joy that is still available to me.”
