Susan Badcock Gallery is looking forward to welcoming you all to the exhibition opening of Esther Deans and David Owain Jones.

David Owain Jones and Esther Deans live and paint alongside one another, and this exhibition celebrates their mutual affection for art and the visible world. They both tend to work from observation and these paintings record their experiences of the changing seasons – the shifts in light and colour from Winter to Spring, or the symbols of Autumn leaves and new blossom. 

They have both been influenced by each other, and their approaches to art often overlap; these paintings show elements of both correspondence and difference in techniques, choice of subject matter, and use of colour. It is an exhibition about a shared commitment to looking and creating, and the importance of art in recording the passing moments in our lives.
